Pros
Super Fast Speeds
Can read and write
More Durable

Cons
Can only be deleted and re written on so many times before it disappears
Expense for price for GB
Need a newer motherboard for full speed
Small memory amounts

Picking the proper SDD is very important for what you are going to use it for holding your games and making your pc boot up super fast. For gaming and boot up you want speed, and reliability. unless you back your things up. Most people pick speed because that’s essence of the SDD but some like the speed with reliability.

This is a spec chart for the very popular crucial m4 SSD 256gb u don’t need a 256gb for anything unless u he a lot of games or movies, music.

Crucial M4 CT256M4SSD2
MTBF 1,200,000 hours
Warranty 3 Years
Max Sequential Read Up to 550 MB/s ; 415~550 MB/s
Max Sequential Write Up to 260 MB/s
4KB Random Read: Up to 45,000 IOPS
4KB Random Write: Up to 50,000 IOPS

Ok if u compare that to your average mechanical hard drive the read and write is super fast, also it has a much longer warrantee which is always nice IOPS stands for input output operations it is very important as it can determine the size of the SSD data block and the bigger the better because after you read and delete a data block enough it disappears. The random IOPS is how fast that drive can find any file no matter where it is. BTW as far as ik the OCZ Vertex 4 is the fastest sata 6gbps SSD you can buy and they’re UBER FAST!

Choosing Your SSD

Intel SDD
• Super reliable
• Ok read and write times

OCZ SDD
• The Fastest Sata SSDs available
• Ok reliability
• If it isn’t a Vertex the reliability is questionable

Crucial M4 SDD
• Good combo of speed and reliability
• Very popular

Corsair Force SDD
• The Fastest SDDs around
• Also good reliability

Samsung SDD
• Good speed
• Very reliable

If it isn’t a major brand I just mentioned just like mechanical HDD buy at your own risk also SSD and Mechanical HDD have the same DOA and failure rates

if your case has a 2.5in drive bay you don't need a 3.5in to 2.5in drive bay adapter
