Out of all that you posted, I got that much information I care about......
Also noticed its an HP
Thoughts? I haven't paid much attention to the budget end stuff in a couple years so I can't really tell you how it stacks up to others. Would have been better value for money to build it yourself but not everyone is into that.
From my friends I hear HP is a more than decent brand. No personal encounters though. As long as you enjoy it, right?

I did a quick google search on the model- apparently HP doesn't make it anymore. sounds like he got a deal on it as retailers mark down old products quite a lot when products life spans are over

Then again, from what I know most of their 'elite' line up are around $1000. This seems to be a 2009 computer that had windows8 put on it. Seems about the right ballpark, 1/3 of the cost after 3-4 years?

Pretty good, but sounds unreal when you said you paid only $300. You got a great deal but I would recommend changing some stuff later down the road, like your graphics card, etc.

The CPU still sells for almost $300 and it wouldn't have win8 they wouldn't pay for win8 and sell it so cheap

I'm going to guess that the Windows 8 installed on there isn't a properly licensed copy... either that or the person you bought it from is a nut-job.

Those Specs are really good for just $300, your CPU is great for the mean time but depending on how much cash you've got left I'd suggest upgrading your GPU to a Radeon HD 7770 and you'd have yourself a cheap but still pretty bad-ass gaming rig.

I'm going to guess the pre-installed RAM is a standard 1333Mhz speed kit, upgrades to 1866Mhz or even 2166Mhz aren't TOO expensive either.

Good luck! Happy
