(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); So i want a gaming pc that can run games on ultra settings but i don't really have a load of money to spend or i would custom build one from cyber power or something, in your opinions is this pc good for running games on high settings and just generally being a good gaming pc.

Also it's in a massive sale so it's even cheaper than others

You're better building one from scratch. :p

The individual parts on that PC equate to around £400, it's ok but as everyone has said it's better to build you own and put whatever YOU want inside of your gaming rig, you save money and have the satisfaction knowing you built it.

Better everything except RAM, but you really don't need more than 8GB for gaming. The only reason the Amazon PC has 16GB is because people think "ooh more RAM, this must be a great PC!" and buy it when in reality it's really not that great.

- Gone from four CPU cores to eight.

- Aftermarket cooler, better than stock so you won't have temperature issues when overclocking (within reason).

- Much better suited motherboard for overclocking.

- As much RAM as you'll need and at a higher frequency which AMD CPUs benefit from somewhat.

- Given that the Amazon PC didn't specify hard drive RPM, this one is most likely better.

- 7870 XT is basically a crippled 79xx card, and Sapphire tend to do good cooling. Without a doubt better than the 7850 which would have probably been a cheap, easily overheated card anyway.

- Standard budget case w/ front-panel USB 3.0.

- Better quality power supply (80+ bronze efficient + semi-modular).

- Add any desired CD/DVD/BD drive if you want, they're fairly cheap.

---

Easily better off building it yourself, as always.

This gets on my nerves, I was on eBay last night just browsing GPU's and came across some pre-built systems (obviously with the flashy display pictures with "4.2Ghz" this and "1000GB" that) and upon reading the description of one of them... my blood just boiled.

He advertised a free game with the build (Far Cry 3) and I'm thinking fair enough you get something extra, but then I go down and find this:

GPU: 1GB Radeon HD 5450

....SERIOUSLY?!! This is supposed to be labelled as a "Fast Gaming Machine" when it has a GPU so weak that it can barely run Far Cry 2 (yes, 2!) at 30fps, on low-medium settings, with 0xAA, at 1280x1024...

My 2 year old HP-DV7 Laptop has a more powerful GPU than this piece of crap! And what's worrying is most people look at builds like this for sale and see the big words like "Quad-core" "Gaming machine" "1000GB" "4.2Ghz" and think "wow this must be an awesome machine"... when in reality it really isn't, and I hate to see people getting mislead and ripped off!

Which is why whenever a family members needs a new computer I just build them one with input on what they need, saves them money... and I enjoy building them Winky Winky

tl;dr - Always do your research everyone before dropping money on a pre-built system, you'll be surprised Smile
