(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Alright, right now I'm in the middle of deciding between a laptop and a desktop. I will have by the end of July 1,300$ and I might have a maximum of 1,500 to spend by mid August.

The one thing I love towards the laptops is the portability factor, the downside is the screen's going out and power to process complications.

I've built up a couple rigs earlier this morning and they have ran me about 1,240$.

I'm asking you to help build some computer with a cap of 1,300.

I'm not looking for a gaming computer, I am looking for something that has the capability to act as a gaming computer but do much much more, hence why I don't go for the i5 and why I am spending twice that of a normal gaming rig.

When factoring in costs, include Mouse + Keyboard, no monitor, no speakers.

If you go over 1,300 by a little I don't mind.

To those who create builds and post them, I will award you with Rep + vBux at my discretion.

This'd be a lot cheaper if you could wait until around November - loads of sales happen then and often knock 10-20% off any given build. Regardless, this is quite nice Smile

I'm looking more towards August. Still, to use something for 3 months means that if I saved 100-150$, that's not a lot per month. Plus places like Fry's puts great sales towards the end of July early August because of school and they usually match any other sale occurring at any other places. I live only an hour away from them.

Good buy though, definitely though will stay away from wired keyboards/mouse; I don't like them aha.

I'm good on the advice, I'd just like to see your opinions on builds. As for advice, I've got 2 people who I know who build computers part-time; they have just been very busy and so I haven't been able to talk to them.

Fair enough for a wireless mouse but you should definitely look into mechanical keyboards. A wired mechanical keyboard tops a wireless membrane one any day.

Yea I know wired > wireless but I prefer wireless. I don't notice a huge difference between the two other than that I have to replace the batteries about every 6-8 months which isn't a huge cost as I use rechargeables.

Just... look into mechanical. It'll be higher quality and last you a lot longer.

Meh, I'm using a wireless keyboard/mouse that is 7 years old now. It has served me very well and I've had no issues. Logitech ftw.
