£300 is a tight budget for a gaming computer. Your better off saving up some more money and that way you get your money's worth because if you have too low of a budget you end up getting a bad price for performance ratio.

You can get a decent gaming PC for about £500 from many trusted websites.
£300 is a really tight budget for a PC.
You should consider saving up a little more, like Silent Assassin said.

No matter which PC you buy, as long as it has a powerful GPU, CPU and RAM. I recommend Intel i7 (any model), Nvidia GTX580 or higher and 6gb ram. I'm using similar configuration two years so far and was able to run all games on ultra high settings, without any framerate drop.

your best saving another 100 pounds by maybe selling a ps3 to switch to PC because 400pounds can actually get you a pretty solid PC if you build it
