But when I plug in the monitor via a DVI to VGA adapter, the only thing that shows up is "No Signal." I also tried with a DVI cable and it'll turn on, show "No Signal" then turn off a second later.

Start backwards does the system power on?
Does the mobo power on does the GPU power on etc

Is your monitor on the right setting? Like hdmi or vga? Also why are you using vga?

I figured out the problem. I dont know why I didnt check it sooner. The graphics card is plugged into the power supply but it's not getting any power(The fans aren't running when PC is on). There are 2 seperate plug ins connected to that wire that arent connected to the graphics card. I dont want to try and plugging them in and then messing up the graphics card.

Keep in mind my step dad built this and I am not able to get a hold of him atm.

I was using VGA because that was the only cord I had available until today when I got the DVI cord.

Is this just the graphics card or all the fans in the case? also. also did u try flipping the switch on the psu. Maybe its shut off

Could be the wrong power connector, you won't be able to destroy a GPU due to the connectors.
Or PSU does not have enough power to power the GPU.

Your GPU requires a 8+6 pin connector.

Your PSU has a two 6+2 pin connectors on a single cable. Get the 6+2 pin connector and plug it into the 8 pin connector on your GPU. Get the the other 6 pin connector (leave the 2 pin hanging) and plug it into the 6 pin connector on your GPU.
