Post: 'OK' PC for $300 - $400? (Pre-Built preferred)
01-18-2017, 05:14 AM #1
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hi so i am planning on upgrading my computer, though i only feel like spending around $300 - $400. Is there anything that i can get that would be ok within that price range? E.g. good speed, etc...
I am not good at building and never have built a PC, so i would rather the PC be pre-built.
Thanks for reading Smile

You can only pick 2.

If you can put legos together you can put a PC together. Idiots in the console world, and people who make consoles have demonized PC building just to trick people like you into thinking it's difficult.

If you're doing pre-built just go get whatever you can afford off the shelf from Walmart/Tesco. Simple as that.

If you don't want to be a tard about it:

MEDIA PC:

This HTPC is essentially a next-gen console with more versatility. The GPU in this build is You must login or register to view this content., and the CPU is more than powerful enough to handle current-gen games without bottlenecking the GPU. You can expect to game at the same frame rates, resolutions, and graphical fidelity as the PS4 or XBoxOne, but you will pay nearly $100 less for the privilege.

THE CRUSHER:

This is probably the best bang-for-your-buck build in this entire page. It renders any gaming console obsolete through superior performance. Considering that both next-gen consoles have significantly less processing power than this build (especially when you look at real-world gaming performance), this PC will have you absolutely set for the duration of the generation (if you're willing to drop your settings to what the consoles are locked at, which is usually around 900p, ~45FPS, and "Low-Medium"). This build in particular is suitable for running most modern games at 1080p/60fps/medium-high settings. It provides for PC versatility, as well.

You can use Linux, Steam OS, you could also get cheap Windows keys from Reddit (see: You must login or register to view this content.).

Both of the above builds are no more than 450 USD.
