The footage looks really slick. It ran well, was awesome on the graphics front, and sounded good. Kratos used his spear and shield for the first time as a display of his new defensive and offensive moves, but he also picked up the Eye of Atlantis. This is a handheld weapon that projects electricity and zaps the hell out of the bad guys. The cool thing is that Kratos can move around the screen and jump into the air while attacking with the eye.

The demo portion of the panel ended as Kratos squared off against King Midas, the mythical man who turns whatever he touches to gold. Old, withered and on the brink of madness, Midas is cowering before Kratos when he finds the king. The game's camera drops low behind the pleading king, and when Kratos grabs him, a quicktime event goes down where the player needs to nail the onscreen button to snatch Midas' wrist. If the player misses the command, Midas grabs Kratos and turns our protagonist into a golden statue.

As the video above shows after you've nailed the quick time event, Kratos throws the king over his shoulder and starts to walk towards the lava waterfall. Kratos will occasionally drop Midas or put him down to fight off a few dogs here and there, but this is only provided the player to stomp on Midas face or smash his face onto the floor to re-subdue him. When the duo got far enough, Kratos begins to drag Midas by his foot. This is cool because the camera drops to the floor to show Midas desperately scrambling and scratching at the ground which left a trail of golden hand prints.

In the end, Kratos hurls the king into the lava – but the demo and trailer ends just as he would've touched the burning waterfall. It was definitely a cool scene that you're sure to see as we get closer to God of War: Ghost of Sparta's holiday release date.

Here are some screen shots of the up coming game!
