Capcom has finally, and unceremoniously, canceled Devil May Cry for PSP. It almost went unnoticed in this week's issue of Famitsu -- a single line of minuscule text beneath the magazine's release schedule.

Devil May Cry PSP was first announced in 2004, along with that other longstanding PSP vaporware title, Gran Turismo 4 Mobile. Although nothing more was ever heard in the years that followed, some speculated that the PSP's Monster Hunter-driven resurgence might serve to fast-track the game back into development.

Indeed, Capcom's Sengoku BASARA: Battle Heroes, a game in a very similar genre, was released in Japan last week to excellent sales. For Dante, however, it was just not meant to be
