Post: How to fix a drifting analog

What you need:
a Phillips #0 Screwdriver

a q-tip, and some rubbing alcohol
PSP 2000 Tutorial:
Step 1.) Unscrew all 7 screws on your psp with the screwdriver

Step 2.) Take off the top off your psp (Gently)
it should look like this---> You must login or register to view this content.
Step 3.) Unscrew the analog (Theres should only be One screw)

Step 4.) Then take out the analog (BE AS GENTLE AS YOU HUMANLY CAN)

Step 5.) Then dab the q-tip in some alcohol and clean the golden chip gently (there might be a rubery crystal tab on the golden chip, just take it of and clean the golden chip then put the rubery tab back on the golden chip)

DO NOT LOSE THE RUBBERY CRYSTAL TAB THATS ON THE GOLDEN CHIP -->You must login or register to view this content.
Step 6.) And clean the bottom of the analog (gently)

Step 7.) Put the analog back in... (VERY GENTLE)

I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE IF YOU BRAKE/MESS UP YOUR PSP...

PSP 1000 Tutorial
What You Need:

(PICTURE AT THE TOP)
A q-tip, and some rubbing alcohol
Step 1.) Unscrew all 7 screws with the screwdriver

Step 2.) Then take of the top cover... But the analog is screwed to the top cover
Unscrew the 2 screws ----> You must login or register to view this content.
Step 3.) Unscrew the 2 Screws then Take out the analog (gently)

Step 4.) then clean the golden chip on top of the analog (there might be a rubery crystal tab on the golden chip, just take it of and clean the golden chip then put the rubery tab back on the golden chip)

Step 5.) Then clean the bottom of the analog

Step 6.) Then screw the analog back in (gently), then screw everything back up

Im using a 1000 model but I was able to follow the steps some what but after cleaning the gold chips and metal plates it still floats but only to the top right corner. Is there any way I can fix this?

how would i clean my Ps3 controllers analogue as mine has a tendancy to stick just a tiny amount to the left which means if i'm on CoD or any game involving aiming my aim gets put off sometimes.. very nice tutorial glad i read it.

The 1000 series is a little different from the 2000 series, im going to post a 1000 series tutorial later on today.

why can't we use the screwdriver in the image that says "not this screwdriver"? It seems to fit perfectly :confused: sorry, its just tempting cause I have the "bad" screwdriver infront of me :dumb:

LoL i dont know why it says "not this screwdriver"... But that is the one you use to unscrew the screws of the psp (Phillips #0 screwdriver)
