Both models will have GPS from what I know. In order for the wifi version to properly work though you must be connected to wifi

That all depends on download speeds and how strong your 3g is from AT&T. Most of the time though Wifi is faster but that depends...

On wifi in australia i get quick internet for my iphone. Yet with 3g it struggles to load pages.

No, only the 3G version has GPS I Tried the vita today and it said only gps on 3G version so the only difference is 3G + GPS

Yeah there are no speed or true technical differences between the systems one has 3g capabilities the other doesn't one has gps also the 3g model. But I have a phone with att for all that so its fairly pointless as its already been told to us that games Can't be played over 3g online. I recommend saving 50$ both the district manager at gamestops around here which I am friends with and employees at bestbuy have told me the only reason for the 3g bundle with the 8gb memory card and the psn and data connect vouchers is because they believe the sales for the 3g model will tank and that sony will stick with the wifi model. Mostly as it simply makes more sense to do so.
