Sony's brand new baby is already getting some new features in a Firmware Update released earlier today.

Sony states that in preparation for Wednesday's worldwide launch of the Vita, they decided to launch
this update which adds some pretty decent features.

• A new application, (Maps), has been added to the home screen.
  
  
  
• In addition to photos, you can now take videos using the Photo application.
  
  
  
• You can now publish stories about the products that you rate in PlayStation Store to Facebook.
  
  
  
• In near, players’ information is now displayed on the Discoveries screen. On this screen, a list of the online IDs of up to 100 players that you have encountered, and the number of times that you encountered each player, are displayed. Tap an online ID to display that player’s profile screen.
  
  
  
• The Mac OS version of Content Manager Assistant for PlayStation has been released. The Windows version has also been updated.
  
  

All them features were added in 1.60, According to the Sony blog this updates just improves the System Software more just like 4.11 did for the PS3.

Still have to wait for tomorrow until I become my vita and there're already updates to do lolz D=

I'm not positive I'll get a Vita. Just seems like it would
be a waste of money for me. Not saying its a bad handheld, but
I don't really need it.
