Now go to your PS3/X-Box, and start up BC2, when you get to the main menu go to look at your weapons and stats, a message should pop up saying you have unlocked the M1, if it doesn't, turn of your Ps3/X-Box and wait about 5 minutes and start up BC2 again. Actually, a veteran rank on Battlefield means that you own more than one Battlefield game. 2 games is a rank of 1, 3 is a rank of 2 and so on up to rank 9 so far.

ive only owned one? and im vet 1 same with my other 2 friends...

It might only show you have 1 in Bad Company 2. The whole game pretty much increases some things by one such as veteran rank and overall rank. For example; my veteran rank in game shows 4 but it's actually 3. Also, when you go on the leaderboard, it shows you placed with people who are actually one rank higher than you.

Your stupid, your veteran rank is how many BF games you own minus 1.

i Did this but never got the m1 dunno y =[. it says i have 1 veteran point (2 games) and im pretty sure its linked to my xbl gamertag :S

Thanks for this. I didn't know you could use the Bad Company 2 site for vet status. I've been waiting for the Veteran site to open... not anymore though
