Portal [1], introduced in Valve's popular "The Orange Box", became one of the most enjoyable and innovational titles of the time. It brought a new aspect to the gaming world, requiring you to think to pass through each level.
Valve, the developers behind the Half-Life series, Portal, and other titles, have just announced that Portal 2 would be delayed to sometime next year. "Making games is hard," they said, just before making this announcement.
Below is an email sent to Video Game 24/7 by Aperture Science, who will be working with Valve on Portal 2:

Portal 2 is now planned to release sometime next year for PC and Xbox 360.

From my perspective, Portal [1] was nothing spectacular. It was indeed fun, but nothing that is making me uncontrollably excited for this game, nor disappointed that it has been delayed. Frankly, while many get disappointed when a game is delayed, I see it as a good thing. Delaying a game is a logical decision to make when developers are any bit unsure about the title they are planning to release. Releasing a game without being fully confident in it can not only result in less customer satisfaction, but more bugs and issues for the developers to have to fix later on down the road.
Portal 2 will definitely be something I try out, as I want to see exactly what has been changed from Portal [1].
Please, give me your thoughts and comments on the recent delay.
