So, below is a video of a hands-on demo of Sony's new technology that has been in development for quite some time now and up until recent days any demos of it have been kept secure from the public but now we can see exactly what the PlayStation MOVE is both like and capable of.
So initially we can see from the opening moments of the video that the motion sensor controllers, combined with the PlayStation Eye Camera provide both a high speed and accurate replication of ones real-life movements on the monitor. The movements seem almost instantaneous and lag-free compared to similar motion controls available on the market today. The game being demoed comes with the PlayStation MOVE package which includes the motion sensor controllers. One thing that I liked about how he is playing the game is that he's playing it from the comfort of his couch and I, for one, sometimes don't like getting up from my seat to play video games like the lazy person I am.
With games such as KillZone 3, R.U.S.E and Dead Space: Extraction already incorporating technologies used in the demo we will all need to free up a lot of our daily lives to get time to fully make use of these handy little controllers.
