Two legendary games set in post-apocalyptic America.

The Fallout Series

Fallout Background Info
Fallouts 1-3 are all set post-apocalyptic D.C, you start in vaults which protect the occupants from the terrors of the outside world. In each game you venture out of the vault for different reasons. Along the way you face action packed adventures and see a variety of creative enemies. In ALL of the games, you have limitless freedom, allowing you to go where ever you want!

Fun Fact!
The game's currency is bottle caps which are collected from the drink: Nuka Cola.

Fallout 3
Fallout 3 follows the pattern as the previous Fallout games. Set in Washington D.C, Known as: The Capital Wasteland.
You start the game out, looking through the eyes of your mother, as she is giving birth to you in the vault. Your father is the Vaults doctor, he shows your mother a name picker and a machine which shows what you will look like when you are older, allowing you to fully customize your name and looks so you are not stuck with some random ass guy.

you play through the vault growing up until you reach 18. One day, your father decides to leave the vault, and being the heroic type, you follow in his footsteps and leave the vault, just hours after he does, and man, the guy seems to go everywhere in a few hours! Once you leave the vault, you are left to find your father, which sets you on to the trail. Picking up information on your father's location.
After a few missions, you find him, and the main story picks up from there.

The game is not just focussed on the main story, you have a large amount of side quests and a whole bunch of monsters to fight, people to see and places to go. Throughout the game, you pick up XP from visiting places, doing quests and killing people and monsters.

there are 20 Levels (30 when purchased DLC: Broken Steel- which is an extension of the main story) and for every level up, you gain perks.

Fallout: New Vegas
Fallout New Vegas, As you can tell from the name, Is set in post-apocalyptic Vegas, known in the game as: The Mojave Wasteland.
Unlike the other games in the Fallout series, you start out watching a cutscene, where you are delivering the prestigious platinum chip to the man who is in control of the Las Vegas Strip. As the chip is of high value and holds many secrets, it is wanted by the game's 3 main factions:
The Legion - A large army of men who act like the Romans. Led by Caesar. The Bad Guys
The NCR - New California Republic. An organization who wish to restore life to the Mojave Wastes. The Good Guys.
Mr House's Robots: Owners of The Strip, Wants to build robot population in the wastes. Neutral.

You wake up in the doctor's house in the small settlement of Good Springs. After you have made your character, you are set to go, without the hassle of playing through vault levels like the pervious fallout games.

After a short main story, there are many side quests to do and lots of places to discover, as well as a lot of things to kill. You gain XP from doing these activities. There are 30 Levels and you get a perk every 2 levels.

My Ratings
Fallout 3:
Graphics 7/10
Main Story 8.5/10
Side Quests 8/10
Weapons 7.5/10
Gameplay 9/10
Overall 9/10

Fallout: New Vegas:
Graphics 9/10
Main Story 8/10
Side Quests 10/10
Weapons 10/10
Gameplay 10/10
Overall 9.8/10

My Conclusion
In Conclusion, I prefer New Vegas to Fallout 3 Purely on the fact that there is alot more to do on New Vegas and there is still alot more to come when the DLC comes out.

Personally, i would love to see an extension to the story as the game ended with me thinking "damn, what happens next?!"
But, that could be their plan, maybe they want to leave me on edge, and BAM! They hit me with an awesome continual of the story, then i would give the game a 10/10!
Thanks for reading, Laney!
