According to a report by TechRadar, Microsoft could be eying gaming as a big focus for the forthcoming Windows 8. TechRadar claims that "the software giant [is] ready to put its weight behind the platform once more."
Microsoft has also hired Rahul Sood, a former Hewlett-Packard and Voodoo PC employee. If you don't remember he is the guy that reported the news that Microsoft has no plans for PC and Xbox 360 cross-platform multiplayer. Because the "the console players got destroyed every time" which started arguments about controllers versus mouse & keyboard.
Mircosoft has already launched it's redesigned Windows Marketplace which sells games and DLC. They will have to be ready to compete with the PC juggernaut platform, Steam.
What do you think? Will this be a bust or will Microsoft be able to dethrone the king of PC games, Steam?

I doubt that Steam will be moved by this attempt. One way I could see it happening is if Microsoft allowed PC gamers to play with 360 gamers, but not pay a monthly fee. However since its Microsoft I doubt that it will be free. Good Luck to Steam, I do LOVE them!
