Thanks to Alan Kertz we now have a lot more information on the upcoming Battlefield 3. He's been getting many questions on Twitter and answering a lot of them! TechSpotLight, have gathered up most the information into a list. Here is some, but not all the details of the game.

  • Prone and spotting are in
  • Dolphin diving is out
  • PC version can handle 64-player matches; consoles are restricted to 24 players
  • The bullet drop system is being revamped
  • No more tracer darts

As I said though, Kertz has answered many more questions but this is just some of the key information.

The game looks awesome, but whats dolphin diving? and was it possible in BF2? i think having prone will make the snipers even better, there almost impossible to see at best of times let alone when they are lying on the floor, but i like the fact they are keeping spotting in, thats a bloody brilliant feature that comes in handy when your not in the midst of the action and want exp.

Oh i getcha, thank god they didn't put this in, i thought that ruined black ops, battlefield 2 is miles better than the Current CoD so i'm glad they are taking notes and not ruining the 3rd when they pit it against CoD MW3

i liked it but it should just stay with CoD .. i could imagine it in battlefield that would suck .. Battlefield Bad Company 2 is Different then Battlefield 2 which was just for PC .. they has a Ps2, Xbox, and Xbox 360 version but it was Battlefield 2: Modern Combat

Good news here. I hope BF3 will be close to what BF2 was and not like BFBC or something like that.

64 player maps like in the good old days baby!

im glad dolphin dives are out, and a better prone system as well as a bullet drop tweak is well done for dice and such. im loving the hype so far for the game, and will compete great against killzone 3, and should blow mw3 away. full destructible environments are the best thing to gaming. being able to drop a ceiling on a camper noob with an rpg or mortar strike is genius. loved bf2..will love bf3 too

Man correct me if I'm wrong but Battlefield 2, the PC only game didn't have destructible envirments. Your thinking about Bad Company 2 which is a console to PC game.

bfbc2(battlefield bad company 2) had destructible environments. battlefield 3 is the next in line, in the series.
