PS3 3.56 Bypass Methods PATCHED
By: ClutchLikeMelo // February 8, 2011
After a few weeks of being able to bypass the 3.56 firmware update, Sony has finally patched it. Both the DNS method AND proxy method do NOT work anymore.
The reason it took so long for them to patch it could possibly be because they wanted to patch EVERY method, not just the DNS.
So now your left with two options. Upgrade to 3.56 and be able to connect, or wait to see what comes out of this and keep your jailbreak.

If you do choose to update then follow this quick tutorial first :y:.
Go on FTP server
1. Go to /dev_hdd0 now open the home folder (You should be in /dev_hdd0/home now)
2. Now there should be folders with several zeros and a number at the end. You have to find your account.
3. Find what folder is the psn you on by right clicking on the localusername file in each folder and clicking view/edoit until you see the user that matches your USER name. (NOTE: that the user and PSN account name are different)
4. Once you have found the right user open the folder called etc
5. Now delete the boot_history.dat file
6. Now go to -/dev_hdd0/vsh/pushlist/
7. Delete game.dat and patch.dat
Now once you've erased all previous history delete all homebrew pkgs/apps off your ps3. Now download the official firmware from You must login or register to view this content..
Plug your usb into your computer and make a folder on the root called PS3 then inside that folder make another folder named UPDATE, now finally move the 3.55 OFW download into the UPDATE folder.
Next your going to plug your usb into your PS3 and do a system update via storage media. (If you have the old DNS bypass on go to your internet settings on ps3 and change DNS to automatic.) Once your on 3.55 OFW go ahead and update to 3.56 :y:
