Can NFS Shift Prove Itself?

EA released a video showing the capabilities of their upcoming title, Need for Speed Shift 2: Unleashed. EA is making a bold and very cocky statement by comparing their new title to the racing giants, GT5 and Forza 3. However, the video talks for it self. NFS when compared to GT5 and Forza 3 look much more intense. The car is bumpy, the drivers head is shaky, all adding to the realism. GT5 and Forza 3 are great games, but can Shift 2 be even better?

I personally like the way Shift 2 is being made. It looks as if their trying to add the drivers experience to the game as well as the cars. This looks like a fun improvement and offers the drivers perception of a race. So, the big question is, can Shift 2 be good enough to blow GT5 and Forza 3 out of the water? You guys decide.

I'd rather have solid gameplay over graphics :y:

It's going to take a while to get used to staring at the drivers wheel, but I think this game could contend against GT5 and F3 for best racer.

all i have to say is need for speed shift + g25= most intense racing game ive played - custom sound track on ps3 version. I have it on 360 also but since the g25 isnt compatable i used my mc2 wheel which was still fun for back than.

but i dont think i will be picking up nfs shift 2 unless they add a crap load of features. the original shift is still good to play every now and than between gt5.

This game is going to have to do a lot of things right in order to compete with GT5. Graphics are going to have to be stellar, racing is going to have to be realistic, the car selection must be large at the absolute least, and the customizations must be equally as extensive.

In addition to all that, they just need the right feel to compete, GT5 and Forza are the monsters of racing sims, NFS comes off as an arcade type of game, so they are going to need to have some impressive improvements for people in the racing sim community to take them seriously.
