As a fellow gamer, I myself took interest in the WWE video game series since the PS2 Era. No longer watching the actual thing on television, I still occasionally turn to Smackdown Vs Raw on the Playstation 3 system. Those who follow the console based version of WWE may have noticed the past few titles did not feature much change from their prior, and this in fact left many disappointed, game release after game release.

Recently announced from THQ and Yukes, the developers of WWE: Smackdown Vs Raw, is the total ‘remake’ of the game itself, which is to be entitled “WWE ‘12”. The next edition is said to feature a whole acclaimed ‘Awesome faceNA restructure’ in order to provide users with what they truly want, this being realism to its fullest degree.

A lucky individual over at IGN had the satisfaction of speculating all of what THQ is now brining to the table. Reports of nothing but positives have arrived back, and therefore displaying promising results for this next particular title release.

There's a new animation system, new blending methods, something called "Predator Technology" -- basically, they went under the game's hood and ripped out all the old stuff that people hated and plugged in brand new parts to try and make the most fluid wrestling game around.

... People don't warp to the center of the ring for a 5-Knuckle Shuffle and similar moves anymore; the move happens where it happens. The ropes no longer stay awkwardly still during matches; you slam someone and the ring reacts. The tired fonts and menus of old have been ditched for a new setup. Visually, new shaders and tech have been introduced to make the game look better than ever. There's definition to the character's faces instead of the blur there was last year, and depth of field has been introduced to give the brand new arenas weight and realism.

Although only minor details to date are known about the game, Randy Orton is to be featured on this years edition. Artificial intelligence is claimed to have been remodeled to provide the best possible opponent, based on skill level and ring habits. An added bonus will be a more in depth Universe mode which will allow users to chose their own road to destiny within the WWE. Also taking a revamp, Road to Wrestlemania will also endure vigorous improvements as developers wish to ensure this years title packs a punch. WWE ’12 will be released in stores Fall 2011.

It's good that they seem to be revamping the series. I never was much of a WWE gamer. They always seemed so unappealing graphics wise. Looks like it will be getting an update though, so that's a positive.

Good find Kurt :y: I look forward to reading your news in the future.

Huge fan of this Franchise. I stopped playing WWE games on the PS2 ( smackdown vs raw 2008 ) I felt like in 2009 they took a step back and never played wrestling games again. This new system sounds fun and amazing for the fans

I'm really hype. I played the series on PS1 through PS2 and for some reason just stopped playing them. Eventually I started playing the series again briefly on SvR08 (in my friend's house) and ultimately bought SvR09 for PS3. SvR10 was a step up and SvR11 was really fun! The series kept getting better after SvR09. The improvements weren't all that big initially, but after playing SvR11, SvR10 was just unplayable.

It's pretty cool to see the improvements and they said they were working on even more improvements (based on community feedback...Take notes Activision) for future installments and it sounds like they really listened for WWE '12. Can't wait to hear more about the game.

I hope they make it similar to UFC Undisputed because the graphics were so much better on that as well as the character customisation.
