Post: Fraps crashing my minecraft?

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I've tried to record a lets play of minecraft the other day, and it was running great for a minute or two but fraps crashed my computer after a couple of minutes of recording. I realize the video files easily can add up to 10 gbs so I was saving the recordings to an external hard drive. But for some idiotic reason fraps constantly freezes my minecraft java window thing and the recording cuts off. I don't know why this would happen because even when I'm recording there is absolutely no lag. Have any of you all had this problem?
here are my computer specs if it helps:

If fraps is just unstable is there another recommended game capture program that is similar to fraps and can record without lag?

Ive never experienced this with Fraps before. I find its a pretty good program for recording. Camtasia is also pretty good but can cause a little lag in game Smile

It happens. Make sure you record at a low fps in fraps though. Because the file sizes will be a fraction of what they are now.

Do you have a dual core processor? If so run fraps and Minecraft on separate CPUs

You have an i7 and 4gbs of RAM so that should be far more than enough to run fraps and minecraft  .

What other processes / programs do you having running in the background ?
