The world of Mortal Kombat just got a lot more exciting - it has been announced that the nightmare-haunting freak himself, Freddy Krueger, will be the fourth DLC fighter for Mortal Kombat.
Freddy, star of the Nightmare on Elm Street movie series seems to have issues with Shao Khan stealing the dream world souls he was toruturing, so he's come to the mortal world to sort things out himself.

His fatalities are similar to his film killings, such as Johnny Depps demise in the first Nightmare on Elm Street. Freddy teleports behind the opponent, impales him with his claws and drags them underground. Then a blood spurt will appear.
His second fatality mirrors what made Freddy, Freddy. He summons a giant furnace, hurls his opponent in and slams the door closed, cutting off the opponents arm.
He has a much more accessible fight system, allowing to use his claws as projectiles, like Kung Lao's hat. He's a very fast, vicious fighter that can be used in combination with his teleport move "Dream Shift" to retreat.
Freddy can cause his opponents to briefly fall asleep, by using "Sweet Dreams", which can be extended using your super, allowing you to start off a combination of his vicious attacks.
