Codemasters, the developers behind DiRT3, recently opened a promotion with the graphics card company AMD which means you get a free copy of DiRT 3 when purchasing select AMD products but due to a server error by codemasters, all 3 million keys were put on their server within plane site. Needless to say these got found and pasted on /v/. Just to put that into perspective, DiRT 3 sells for $50, so 3,000,000 x 50 = $150,000,000. That's enough to make 15,000,000 people premium!

There has been a lot of speculation as to how true the number of leaked keys is, but there have been many passed out in different links on pastebin and other related sites, also there has been a lot of rumours on how Codemaster and valve are going to tackle the issue. Codemasters are already trying to block the stolen keys and the list could also be handed over to valve and a wave of suspensions could be due.

So if you are found to be in possession of these fraudlent keys, I would highly recommend that you contact Steam Support on the issue to see if you can get the game removed from your account.

The total amount of keys leaked was around 250,000 in the database, it’s not the entire key database that’s been leaked.

Do you really think they'd ban that many people though? I'm sure thousands of people used the codes already.
