Battlefield 3 is getting its own book, called Battlefield 3: The Russian, which will be released at the same time as the game. Andy McNab, co-author of the book and former SAS specialist, recently did an interview where he spoke about the inspiration behind the book: a special ops mission during the first Iraq War where he and a squad were sent out to cut an Iraqi fiber optics cable in order to disrupt information between Iraqi forces.
