Noch has confirmed on You must login or register to view this content. that Minecraft will be released only to Xbox live. Minecraft was already announced earlier back in E3 but now was given a time period of release. It will be released some time in spring 2012. The Xbox version will be playable at MineCon on November 18th and 19th. This event celebrates the official launch of the game.
