The image above was an invitation sent out by Apple for it's March 7th event. It is a special event where the consumer electronics giant is widely expected to launch the third-generation iPad. The event will be held at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco at 10AM PST, on Wednesday, March 7th. While not officially confirming the product's launch, the message was accompanied by an image showing what looked to be an iPad touchscreen, it "We have something you really have to see. And Touch" - despite the fact that it sounds incredibly wrong off topic - The message clearly shows that a touchscreen device will be unveiled. It is not yet known when the new device will be available for sale. Last year, sales of the iPad 2 began in the US nine days after the launch announcement - which also took place in March, so we may be seeing the iPad 3 by 16th March!
Not much has been reported so far about the device's features and looks. Apple's latest tablet iteration is rumoured to feature a slew of evolutionary upgrades, including a higher-resolution Retina display, a quadcore A6 processor, and 4G connectivity. It was also rumoured that the device may feature the iPhone 4S's Siri and it may also carry the A5 chip. But all these rumours will be put to rest next Wednesday after the event. I will make sure I report back and tell all of you the devices features and also show you some of it's looks.
So, what do you guys think? Do you think a year is too soon to unveil another device? Do you think this device is going to be special in any way and have different features that will really show you it is different to the others? Discuss!

the A5 chip is already out... iPad 3 will have either Quadcore A5X or Quad core A6
