(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});Sources have revealed that Microsoft will implement a new strategy to 'further monetize' Xbox Live subscribers this year.
The group product planner, Praveen Rutnam revealed on his online CV: "Developed strategy to further monetize Xbox LIVE subscriber base that will be implemented for holiday 2012."
At this stage it is not very clear what their strategy is at this moment in time, but I understand it has received a massive amount of negative feedback. Some people also believe that there is probably more of a rational explanation for this and that it could involve the whole moving away from microsoft points to a normal monetary system like the PSN (SEN) store rumour that went around a few months ago.
Another rumour is that it involves the rumoured console-wide 'online pass' system supposedly being adopted by the next Xbox. Although this is very unlikely.
Do the ads on xbox really bother people that much that they have to compare it to the ps3? It's not like youtube where you are FORCED to watch ads.
Takes 20 seconds to install an adblock, can't have an adblock on xbox.
Its the principal, we pay for the service so we shouldn't have to see ads all over it.
