isnt the reason we buy a games console is so we dont have to look at system specs as all work off the shelf? upgrading games console hardware? if thats the future of games consoles then im going to buy a new gfx card for my quad core 16gb ram desktop instead,it would be cheaper AND faster AND i could usecommunity made FREE addons. Sony shooting themselves in the foot again i think.

I think all it will be is a new model with slightly different specs. That's the way Sony make their money, every so often, they will release a newer model. Like the PS3 phat, and the PS3 slim. The PSP 3000 and the PSP 2000. The PSX and the PS1, etc.
