honestly that idea slipped my mind after the borrow glitch and the hacked x1 for money and more simply changing your coin count via hex. I'll look outa curiosity.

If I were to venture a guess. I'd bet the value is tied to the body code like other things, and wouldn't be able to change unless you change the actual game data.
