u have to buy a customizable transmission before u mod the transmission ratio

i do but the settings dont stay, i go to the track and it has the stock ratios

Did you make sure the car settings got saved properly in GT5?
Best you can do is, after hybridding, start up GT5, switch to another car (in garage) and do a manual save in GT-Mode.
That way your guaranteed that your made settings stick to the car.
