They are alternatives, it seems, I have ordered one, but not tried it personally yet, that if you get a different region disk, then they are using different game data, so, on the same ps3, you can have a game at 2.11 to enjoy your modified cars and an other game at 2.12 to race your buddies online.

what region did you end up buying japan?

No I ordered a PAL disk from Europe.

Someone posted something that may work to get the shared cars. I have no idea if it makes sense, he is talking about.

I have seen that on youtube, It was used for a game like COD or something. Not sure if it works on gt5. These patch blocks only last so long and are eventually found and removed. Someone should give it a try cause it wont hurt anything.

i understand your pain, at first i didnt want to make hybrid cars but first one i built it was over. i stopped playing Gt5 because really its a boring game the online play is cool but this game is missing creation and hybrids gave the game life. i didnt want to but i updated after i took pictures of all my cars, most likely this game is going back in the dust box, i have my saved data but its useless right now hopefully someone will find a way around this if not i was never a Forza fan but im leaning that way right now....when i look at my cars now there ugly, slow and high...smh the fun is gone for me, and i built real swaps....so as far as im reading you still have access to hidden items? can i still get those if i can then i will try to play the game a bit longer.....lol

My understanding is that a with a HDTV it is fine since PAL/NTSC issues do not exist with HD content.
