All menus are made / eddited on a pc or mac man. Look up gta iv / eflc tools. Some of the most popular tools are open iv, sco tool box, and dev c++. Alot of the tools are self explainitory and some require u to have more knowlage. Good luck

You can edit it but wont be able to use without cfw or data transfer.

I have the mod menu via backup so cant i connect my laptop to ps3 and change it?

It might be possible to edit the menus through a edit tool on your laptop, and burn a new copy. But I don't know if any1 here has burned a cd based menu, like it sounds like your freind did. It's an Xbox technique, I'm not to fimilar w/. I'd look it up In the sticky section of our forums. The other techniquie is data transfer - it requiers 2 PS3's. One on OFW and One on Cfw Via eithernet cable. I'd look that up too man. If u have a buddy on Cfw already, u won't have to buy anything but an eithernet cable Hope this helps

Because it is a back up you are not able to edit it , but if the guy who made the back up edits it and makes you a back up again then you will have it edited
