How about that Frostbite 3 engine, right? It has all of the polygons and textures and physics in one package, allowing EA's various developers to make pretty video games like Battlefield 4. While I believe my description should suffice, the bros at EA DICE would like to give a little closer look at the tech they're using in their upcoming first person shooter. They're basically just extrapolating on what I said already, though.
Here are some of the big features they detail:
One unified program that runs on everything from an iPhone to a next-gen console
"Dynamic Ocean Combat" Networked water simulation, so players see the same wave in the same location at the same time No longer swimming on a flat surface, swimming effected by waves Objects like a crashing jet will change the surface of the water, debris will float
This is a look at Frostbite 3 and how Battlefield 4 uses it, but the devs want to not that since Need for Speed Rivals, Command and Conquer, Dragon Age Inquisition and other games also use the engine it will have a diversity and depth like nothing before. That sounds a bit like over-promising to me, but if it means great looking games and more immersive experiences who am I to criticize.
Battlefield 4 launches October 29 on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC, but then will come to next-gen consoles Xbox One and PlayStation 4 when they launch
