"So now" are the wrong words. Plenty of people already knew about this long time ago.

Drifter also mentioned this on 5727cc thread(someone possibly mentioned somewhere else too but just remembered this one).

Anyway you are right, this can be used to steal other players cars. It can also be used to get tunes from the events(like I posted sls tune on gtp:s hidden/reserved GT5 tickets thread).

people can't 'steal' your car but they can recreate your car using this TUT.
ill give you a example; i have a DC5 and when people see it, they beg me to tell them wich chassis i used.
if we do a race, they can just copy the chassiscodes on to theyre car and i don't like that for the simple reason that a spend several hours doeing chassisswaps to find it.

I know, what you mean... have also spent a lot of time for a excel list of a lot of cars in gt5 with wheelbase and trackwidth... but if I can help people with my knowledge of that, I´m happy... if the first people of hybriding didn´t share their knowledge with us, we weren´t able to do it, so let us help each other... we have the same hobby...
you have found a fitting chassis? hey, their are only a few more than 1000 chassis in the game... and a lot of them don´t fit because of the wheelbase... Winky Winky so it´s not a big deal to find the one you have found... it´s only a little search...
hope you don´t get me wrong, I know, what you do, but it will never be complete unique...
