Making this thread to help out the noobs, position is king.
In order to win a tank battle you must out position the other tank getting a better hit on it.

Rear/Side at 90 degrees is what you're after.
Next up reload keep an eye on what you got left because that main gun reloads slow as hell. As a result keep to the machine gun for ground troops avoid using the main gun. 5 shots after that a very long reload, reload between shots if you wish to avoid it.

Awareness keeps an eye on your teammates' locations along with the other team. Running into a group is going to kill you backup and wait for some support.

After that learn the map what routes are good to escape from and move around in. Remember you're a tank nothing is off limits.

On to the views tanking has improved it much more deadly along with useful in this game you're no longer a sponge for RPGs.
Not much else to say the metagame has changed enjoying it a ton more compared to BF3.
