This will inevitably bring about the console vs PC "master race" debate again, but Minecraft for Playstation 4 failed its final pre-release testing. It is not really clear what exactly failed, or what bugs were present. Developer 4JStudios is now in the process of fixing it, making it very unlikely that Minecraft will be coming to PS4 this month.

Developer 4J Studios, which is handling the port of Mojang’s Minecraft, revealed yesterday its PS4 version did not pass Sony’s certification test. The certification test is the official process in which Sony makes sure software doesn’t have any major game-breaking problems. This means that 4J must fix those issues and then resubmit the Minecraft port. The studio didn’t provide a timeframe for when it will send the game back in for testing on PS4, but the process takes at least a week.
4J Studios is still working on fixing bugs on the Xbox One and the PSVita. Minecraft is expected to hit all three platforms before the end of the year. Mojang’s indie phenomenon is one of the biggest games in the world. It is popular with long-time gamers, younger players, and casual fans, and it will likely sell well on the new machines.
