(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); So yesterday after installing the 1.17 update I was prompted with an error stating my game data was corrupted. I proceeded to delete the updates and reinstall them. But now once I load the game and the update preparation is complete, Around 5-10 minutes later I'm met with another error stating that "an error occurred during the installation process" does anyone have any ideas on how I could fix this?

Try these steps Bro, seems long but apparently works every time

It seems the root cause of this was that players would let significant time lapse between updating GT6. When finally updating, the patches will download/install properly, however there is a file extraction that occurs while on the main menu warning screen. If this file extraction gets too big, the install will fail (after waiting for a very long time).

Steps to address the “Installation Failed” issue:
Backup save data file to PS Plus or USB drive and delete existing save data file from the PS3 prior to update process
Within the Games tab of the XMB select Game Data Utility
Highlight GT6 Game Data and press the “Triangle" button and select DELETE
While connected to PSN, highlight the GT6 game disc/game file from the XMB
Press the “Triangle” button and select “Check for Updates”
Accept the update prompts and begin patch process via the XMB
Allow the first 6 patches to download and install.
Once the 6th patch has finished installing, press the “Circle” button to cancel the download process
Scroll left while on the XMB, and highlight the Settings Tab
Scroll down to the Network Settings tab>Internet Connection and select DISABLE (this step will prevent the title from trying to complete the remaining TPPS patch process)
Boot GT6 and follow the in-game prompts until the main menu appears. (this step will create new save data which will later be deleted)
Once the initial in-game installation process is complete, press the “PS” button and Quit the game to return to the XMB
Return to the Settings>Network Settings>Internet Connection screen and select ENABLE
Highlight the GT6 game disc/game file and press the “Triangle” button and “Check for Updates”
Once the first patch has completed it’s download/install process press the “Circle” button to Cancel
Repeat steps 10-15 until all TPPS patches have been installed.
Copy save data from step 1 back to the PS3 system (overwriting any existing save data that may have been created during the update process)
Although fairly complex, this worked every time.

Only thing with that is that when I press triangle I don't have "check for game updates" :/

Well GT6 can go back to gathering dust. It's took me the best part of the day to install 1.02 > 1.17 and after booting the game I'm still greeted with the error message "The game data is corrupted. The game will close. You must delete the game data to play this game" I give up with PS3.

Possibly, but I highly doubt it as it was recently formatted in order to swap it from my OFW to my CFW. I hope it isn't, I'm giving it another go 1.02 > 1.06 then install then I'll try it one by one from 1.07 > 1.17 hopefully get somewhere.

Fuck I really hop the issue can be pin pointed, it seems like randomly some folks just get hella issues updating, it would be nice to figure out why exactly this happens, how to avoid it and how to fix it. I hate it when folks are in trouble but I feel like my hands are tied.

Try this. Do each update individually, basically 2 step each one from 1.06 up. Do an update, exit to the game let it second step install, then exit the game and do the next update rinse wash repeat to 1.17

I know what your like when it comes to helping people, But don't sweat it if it can't be fixed. I only really wanted to drift. I barely play as it is due to work and spending most of my free time with family and friends. But if I figure out how to fix it I'll be sure to post exactly what I done to get around the problem, thanks again. Smile
