What I did to fix the problem was do mission 41 again with a character other than Snake, and after the mission it will automatically start you into the next one. Hope this helps someone else, but then again I hope no one else has the problem.

Even KONAMI didnt post this asa fix, they just suggest you use a buddy other than Quiet. Hopefully this makes its way into google queries.

yep it would help a lot of people because I got the progress freeze and I was using d-dog so apparently I wasn't just quiet that was causing the problem, because I seen what konami had posted about it and was sure not to use quiet but still got the progress freeze hope this helps a lot of people.
