It seems to me that the OP on that thread is looking for Minecraft mods for PC edition, not PS3 edition.

While it's true that in order to mod on PS3 you will need Windows, because all tools are Windows only, the PC/Mac edition of the game (NOT the Windows 10 edition, I'm talking about the Java version of Minecraft!) there are lots of mods that work on both Mac and Windows machines. (For example, TooManyItems, Single Player Commands, WorldEdit, OptiFine, etc) The correct answer to the OP's question on that thread is that NextGenUpdate is the wrong place to find Minecraft mods for PC/Mac edition, not that no mods exist for Mac.

It's important to note that there are NO tools for the PC version. Every modification of the PC version is done by modifying the game files, not modded or patched at runtime, as is the case with the PS3 version.

If a moderator could merge this thread with the other thread, that would be great.
