Be more specific, do you mean your fan is loud/running fast?

Make sure your ps3 isn't in an enclosed space if it's really hot in your room it will affect the temps and fan speed of the ps3. Also you could try opening it up and clearing all the dust out. If you have a jailbroken DEX console then the fan speeds always run faster than OFW

Yeah, make sure it basically has room to breathe and blow air so that it'll stay cool, otherwise the components will eventually screw up.

If your on a CFW then you can get control fan utility. Which you can customize your fan speed with.

People would say to up the fan speed to cool it down faster, but that does not always help. Maybe it is time to reapply thermal paste or something. If it still has factory thermal paste on it you have a major problem in side. PS3's are like a car you have to look after them to keep them running and you have to clean them. I would open it up and do some cleaning and reapply thermal paste. If you were to reapply thermal paste i would prefer Mx5 or Mx4 doesn't really matter there is not much differnece in them.

I would make sure that your cpu isnt over heating if you are on cfw and if it is I would apply new thermal paste and do what Hate said with the control fan utility
