(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hey there is was playing a game on my ps3 slim 2003A then all suddenly beeped and switched it's self off then displayed a red flashing power button anyone know what's up? I'm currently running on REBUG_4.70.1_D-REX and my top of my ps3 case is off so it's well ventilated and my temps are around 60-70°C Gasp

It's a heat issue. This used to happen to me until I cleaned my console out. (Make sure your console isn't like covered by a shelf)

Thanks for getting back to me. It looks clean and it's on my desk with an open top case and next to my window that's always open. do you think replacing the thermal paste would work? Also if you know if I can use a 3004b fan system in a 2003a model?

I'm not too sure. I'm pretty sure that it'll cause problems. (But correct me if I'm wrong)

Ahh okay I was taking about maybe replacing the thermal paste with the one I have in my desktop as I'm not sure if the paste is old since I brought a 3.55 ofw slim second hand.

I have a jb system as well..4.75 d-rex cobra 7.1
I paid to have it jb, so im merely a user..struggling most of the time to make sense of what i read here at NGU.
I read a little about a jb console will tend to run hotter and how to use webman for fan control. Also..by referencing posts here..noticed my console was running higher than normal..in the 60s. Top is off..has been for at least 3yrs. So i removed the fan with two screws on top..toothbrushed the fan blades and pulled some nasty clumps off the aluminum fins inside..blew in from the rear of the console...just cleaned it out. Really well. Basic physics..more air flow..better cooling. I immediately noticed it was quieter..and temp never rose above 50c again. So..to prolong fan life..i lowered its speed as well.
End result was a really quiet and cool running console.
Hope my basics helped.
