Hello 
u cannot write 3.55 over a higher firmware so u are unable to jailbreak and you need 3.55 for it to work basically you cant jb your ps3 because its been updated

OP, you cannot go from a firmware to one older than it, unless you use an exploit or hack (which is not out yet for 3.61/3.65)
If you really want CFW, I suggest staying on 3.65 and never updating. I'm staying on 3.61...We might wait for months, hell we might even be waiting in vain, but that's what you have to do if you really want CFW. The lower OFW you have, the more chance of getting CFW for it.
Off-topic:
Why was I so sure someone here would be flaming. He has a question, and if you had a brain you would have reading comprehension (and comprehend that he said he doesn't know about CFW and jailbreak).
He isn't stupid, just not informed on this. I'm sure all you know about CFW and JB is from ARTICLES AND THREADS ON NGU. It's pricks like you that ruin this community. YOU ARE NOT A HACKER. Sorry Dude, You can't jailbreak after 3.60. But If u jailbreak 3.60, you have to be in Retail Mode I hear. You are gonna need to buy a 3.55 or 3.41 PS3 to jailbreak and host modded lobbies.

either what the other guys said, or you just forgot to do the folders, to do the folders go to the root of ur usb, new folder and type PS3 in caps, then go inside the ps3 folder and make a new folder called UPDATE in caps, and put your ps3 firmware inside the update folder. Hope it helps

Did I ever say I was a hacker you dumb c(u)nt? No. This should be common knowledge. Even someone who has never had a PS3 should be able to easily guess this. A company OBVIOUSLY doesn't want someone reverting to a firmware that allowed piracy. Anyways, no one likes wannabe mods. No, I will not argue with a twelve year-old that has down syndrome, so don't bother replying. I simply won't read it.
