What do you mean by "Best way to run backups on it??"

Do you mean to back up games? In-case you do, you need a PS3 with FW 3.55 or earlier, and downgrade from 3.70 is possible with the right equipment, and knowledge.

The question is: if you cant even find the questions section to put this in then, how the f*ck are you going to jailbreak and run backups on your ps3? If your this much of a n00b that you can navigate your way to a section i dont think you will able to figure out how to use a usb.

Ignore the assholes here, you will want one will a large harddrive, the bigger the better.

Make sure it is under Firmware 3.55.

I would recommend KMEAW 3.55 for simplicity but Rebug 3.55.2 for safety. (Friends updating Ps3)

Omg way to post boost, all anyone is saying is things like wrong section noob ect. Do You think the first 5 people saying it wasn't enough?

But to the OP

you will need a cfw such as rebug or kmeaw that has backup support.

to install it put the PS3PDAT.PUP in this folder setup
PS3--------> UPDATE-------- > your update file goes here
and hit system update from usb

if this don't work try it in recovery mode

a manager I prefer multiman, and the bdemu pkg.
after your manager and bdemu pkg is installed restart the ps3 when it boots back up put a disk in the drive, hit O to copy
to play it you need a disk in the bd drive . any more help

you can get all this stuff and more at You must login or register to view this content.

Well, You need ot buy either a 3.41 ps3 or a 3.55 PS3 to be able to run/do backups. Best choice is to buy a 3.55 Firmware PS3 then just download a CFW, update to it, get the newest version of Multi Man, and start your backups. Hope I helpd?
