If it works you have your PS3 at some firmware ex. 3.51, and it appears to the sony servers as you have the newest firmware so that you can access PSN without loosing the ability to use custom apps and games. Unfortunately if you have a PS3 beyond that firmware, you cannot go back. There is a ton of tutorials and info here, I believe one of them is stickied.

You use a 3.72 spoofer for your 3.55 PS3... You need a ps3 on 3.55 FW or lower to spoof it, you can't spoof the newest firmware if you're already on it xD

if your on spoofer can your friends without spoofer play with you or do they have to be on spoofer as well im a noob aswell so no hate

I can only guess, but technically yes. So long as the spoof works on psn, it should work as normal. Lol, unlike others here I am not unfriendly to the newbies.
