I already downloaded the 3.55 firmware on my PC, but how do i make it so the PS3 is now on 3.55?
And after it's on 3.55, how do i jailbreak it so i can run patches? I can't find any detailed tutorials anymore. Help please!

Format usb in Fat32, make a folder called "PS3" then inside that make a folder called "UPDATE" then put the firmware in there, go to your PS3, go to system update and hit via storage media then update.
Then downlaod You must login or register to view this content. and repeat the steps

Make a folder in the USB. Name it "PS3". Make a folder named "UPDATE" inside the PS3 folder. Drag the PS3UPDAT.PUP inside the UPDATE folder.
USB Root/PS3/UPDATE/UPDAT.PUP (OFW PUP). Now place your USB in the PS3 and UPDATE VIA STORAGE MEDIA.
To Jailbreak/Install CFW:
Download this: You must login or register to view this content.
Extract the file with WinRAR (Or Any Archive). Rename the Extracted PUP File from "KMEAWPUP" to "PS3UPDAT.PUP". Place your flash drive in the computer and replace the 3.55 OFW Update with the CFW Update. Again, USB Root/PS3/UPDATE/UPDAT.PUP (Kmeaw PUP). Install the UPDATE VIA STORAGE MEDIA. When it's done, you will notice two new folders under the "Game" Section in the XMB: Install Package Files and App_Game/home(Or Whatever).
Now you need to download FileZilla and Install it. Link for FileZilla: You must login or register to view this content.
Now, download an FTP Package for the PS3. Heres BlackBox FTP: You must login or register to view this content.
Make sure you have running Internet in your PS3, but DO NOT UPDATE it to the latest FW. Download the latest UPDATE for Mw2 (1.12).
Place your .pkg file onto your USB drive, go to your PS3 and Install Package Files. Now A new ICON will appear under "Game". Hover over BlackBox FTP on the PS3 and press X. It will say an IP address. Go to FileZilla on your PC and type the IP address BlackBox says into the "Host" box of the FTP client and press "Quick Connect". Now go to dev_hdd0/game/BLUS30377/usdir/drag your patch_mp.ff in this folder and Click "Yes" to OVERWRITE. If you want to host a 1.11 patch, you have to delete the default_mp.self.

Really good tutorial btw, thanks a lot. I hosted lobbies before, but I updated the firmware without thinking like an idiot. lol. But your tut gave a big memory refreshment on how to jb again. Now i just need to fix that old PS3...
