Post: Need help downgrading from 3.61 to 3.55

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); My PS3 Slim Bluray drive messed up and now it takes me about 20 tries inserting/ejecting a game for it to be read

It has this error:

I was going to buy the laser but, later decied to stick with 3.61 in hopes of CFW so I could backup my games. It's been a long time and no news of CFW in sight.

I was told to use Cobra USB, Progskeet or E3 Flasher to downgrade from 3.61 to 3.55 and then install CFW. I looked up each of those and did not understand the difference. Later, someone said I could indeed NOT do this with the Cobra USB. This produced confusions in the difference between each product...that person said that "you used progskeet to downgrade"; but then, what use Cobra for after you downgrade with Progskeet?

I was left with a lot of unanswered questions

1) What exactly do each of these do that the other doesn't?

2)Is it true the only difference between Progskeet and E3 is that Progskeet needs soldering and E3 not?
>>>>>If so, what happens after that "solder-free" version of Progskeet comes out? Why is it taking SO long to come out? the news I found about it are old as hell, yet it hasn't come out...

3) With either product; why should I keep it after downgrading?

4)With either product; after downgrading, is it just straight installing CFW then backing up/downloading games? Or am I missing a step?

5) If Progskeet is the product for me, is there any video or written tutorial (but preferably video) (or a written tutorial with photos) that shows how to solder? Or should I wait for the solder-free version? How long, more or less do I need to wait for that version if I do?

Thanks in advance.

3.) If you want to downgrade repeatedly, then you should keep it... Like if you want to switch patches, or maybe decide to go back for any reason...
4.) It downgrades your system to 3.55 OFW, then you need to install CFW on it. ( Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm almost positive that's what it does )

Thanks...I'll keep it for the same reasons I kept my Pandora Battery..."just in case"

What is, then, the use of Progskeet, Cobra USB and E3 flasher?

The E3 flasher is already released. it's $88 or something like that and it's solderless

I heard that in China, Solder-less means "less soldering", and that with E3 you still have to solder...not much, but that you have to.

Is this true?

If so, is it also true for the "solder-less" progskeet that will come in the future?
