i need help going from cfw 3.55 to ofw 4.00
as i don't know how to do it???

because i`m in the mood for helpin noobs i`ll help you (rhymed ) you need to put back the original 3.55 firmware on a usb (google it, check out the official playstation site.. download that and update.

DO NOT update from the custom firmware.. you will brick your ps3.

If that's your only PS3, don't update it. Buy other PS3.

i knew updating it straight would brick it thats why i came here.
so cfw 3.55 to ofw 3.55 then update it using psn to ofw 4.00
also will i be banned if i sign into psn or does sony have no way to find traces of cfw in my system??

i just don't want use homebrew/play backups. i wanna play online and need psn for dlc purposes
buying a new ps3 is not a option budget issues

you really want him to get his ps3 bricked? and yea i think he could update to 4.00 through system update after he installs the OFW 3.55.. forgot about that.

ok found ofw 3.55
so go into recovery mode
update cfw 3.55 to ofw 3.55
then update using internet to 4.00
before i do it do i need deleted all the homebrew apps right???
