Post: Black screen w/ GTA IV (BLUS30127) - how do I get it working?!

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I just got my new 160GB PS3 last night for Christmas. The plan for me was to get Kmeaw on it, then Multiman and ftp over a few games, primarily Grand Theft Auto IV. I downloaded it You must login or register to view this content.. I went to dev_hdd0/game/BLES80608/ and created a "GAMEZ" folder. Then I put the folder titled "BLUS30127" and all of it's contents into the GAMEZ folder. Once it was done transferring it, I started up Multiman, and the game didn't show up. Then I moved it to a new folder titled "GAMES" in dev_hdd0 and it did show up, but when I selected it and went to play it, it got a black screen. I downloaded Rogero and tried that, same outcome. I checked the permissions and they were all right. Then I heard about using a patched EBOOT.BIN file, so I found a few different ones (mainly the one here You must login or register to view this content.). I deleted BLUS30127 folder and then installed the package. Then I reuploaded the folder but without EBOOT.BIN. The game still didn't load and in fact I was pretty confused because there was a "Grand Theft Auto IV" with just a disc icon, and then another one with the game icon. Then I found another thing where there was a modified "common.rpf" file, tried that, nothing.

I'm a total noob at this, never jailbroken a PS3 nonetheless transferred an ISO with it, but I do I have tech background. Can someone help me out here, with a clear tutorial from start to finish? Thanks.

I just deleted all of my GTA data and installed the package "UP0005-BLUS30127_00-0000001112222666.pkg". Then there was a new folder located at dev_hdd0/game/BLUS30127 with all of the patched files. Then I uploaded all of the GTA game files (skipping the files that would overwrite the patched files). The game didn't show up in Multiman or Rogero, but the icon for it showed up on the home screen, and the info said it was about 9GB. When I push X to play it it just gets stuck on the black screen again.
