The E3 Flasher replaces the hdd port on your ps3. The eSata station is necessary because it will be the only way to have your HDD connected to your ps3. You need a dongle to downgrade too. Go to ModChipCentral.com for an E3 card reader. That website has the cheapest price i found- only $8

Buy the Limited Edition, not the 4 part one. Also, if you have a PSP, you can use that instead of an e3 card reader. yes you need an eSATA because you need a HDD station to put your HDD when you install the e3 itself.

(If you know how to solder, i really recommend the Progskeet instead of E3)
